Review:

If you're a fan of 50 Shades of Grey and like erotic romances, then you'll enjoy this book.  I loved that Stevie is a strong, independent woman, but still craves the love of a good man.

I love how the story progresses and we see Stevie transform into a loving woman who is lucky enough to find someone who she feels is out of her league, but is open to the possibilities of love. This was a fun read.

I received this book from the publisher and highly recommend it to everyone.

What's on the Reading Table

WHAT’S ON MY READING TABLE

This is where I share what I'm reading. Hopefully this will help add to your TBR list.

A Fare to Remember  by Opal Carew

Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor

Behind the seemingly innocuous facade of St. Mary’s Institute of Historical Research, a different kind of academic work is taking place. Just don’t call it “time travel”—these historians “investigate major historical events in contemporary time.” And they aren’t your harmless eccentrics either; a more accurate description, as they ricochet around history, might be unintentional disaster-magnets.

The first thing you learn on the job at St. Mary’s is that one wrong move and history will fight back—sometimes in particularly nasty ways. But, as new recruit Madeleine Maxwell soon discovers, it’s not only history they’re often fighting.

The Chronicles of St. Mary’s tells the chaotic adventures of Max and her compatriots—Director Bairstow, Chief Leon Farrell, Mr. Markham, and many more—as they travel through time, saving St. Mary’s (too often by the very seat of their pants) and thwarting time-travelling terrorists, all the while leaving plenty of time for tea.

From eleventh-century London to World War I, from the Cretaceous Period to the destruction of the Great Library at Alexandria, one thing is for sure: wherever the historians at St. Mary’s go, chaos is sure to follow in their wake.

The Dream of Reason by Anthony Gottlieb

Already a classic, this landmark study of early Western thought now appears in a new edition with expanded coverage of the Middle Ages. This landmark study of Western thought takes a fresh look at the writings of the great thinkers of classic philosophy and questions many pieces of conventional wisdom.

The Importance of Living by Lin Yutang

The Importance of Living is a wry, witty antidote to the dizzying pace of the modern world. Lin Yutang's prescription is the classic Chinese philosophy of life: Revere inaction as much as action, invoke humor to maintain a healthy attitude, and never forget that there will always be plenty of fools around who are willing-indeed, eager-to be busy, to make themselves useful, and to exercise power while you bask in the simple joy of existence. At a time when we're overwhelmed with wake-up calls, here is a refreshing, playful reminder to savor life's simple pleasures.

That's what's on my reading table, what's on yours?

After Me Review

After Me  by Deborah Coonts

Genre: Fiction

Publisher: Deborah B. Coonts

Source: Sent by publisher for review

Book Description:

Twenty million in diamonds missing.

Kate Sawyer, a cop in witness protection, holds the key.

If she could only remember.

Early-onset Alzheimer's clouds the past. Stem cell therapy is working to clear it.

But time is running out for Kate.

One night finds a dead man in her bathtub with a note stuck in his pocket.

I know what you've done.

Her cover blown, Kate runs, the clock is ticking. People close to her are being killed.

Shadowy memories tease her. Some she recognizes. Others don't seem familiar at all.

Running from people she can't remember, dogged by a past lost in the haze, Kate discovers no one is who they appear to be, perhaps not even herself.

Review:

This is the first book of hers I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The character is well developed and the author researched the signs of Alzheimer's  and showed how it affected the mind of Kate and how she struggles to remember things from her past by using her smart phone to help her remember day to day events, appointments, etc.

This was a great suspenseful read and I will read more from her in the future.

This book has wry humor, raw emotions, and Kate's struggle with a disease that has no cure.

I received this book from the publisher and highly recommend it to everyone.
