This is the first book
I've read of Dorothy Garlock's and I was captivated by her writing and the
story itself. This is a summer beach read that will transport you to a small
town and one young, sheltered woman's dreams of the Big Apple.
I grew up in a small
town and this story captures the feelings I remember feeling about wanting to
live and spread my wings. I could relate to Lily and having a parent shelter
you from "reality". Lily tries to leave Hooper's Crossing, but
chickens out at the last minute.
When Lily meets Boone,
her desire to leave grows stronger, as does their love for one another. Lily finally gets the courage to tell
her father that she wants to be in control of her own life and destiny.
This is a feel good
story about love and courage to leave the nest.
